Job Summary
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) / Caregiver Float provides direct care for individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) within residential group homes in Eugene/Springfield. Float DSPs are adaptable and will have the necessary skill set to be able to work at multiple homes.
This is a full time permanent position. Schedule for shifts subjected to change based on needs of programs however schedules are given two weeks in advance. Float staff have option to do Day/Swing or Swing/Overnight shift schedule. Open and flexible availability (including weekends) is required.

- Enrich and support the lives of our residents in the supported living program while maintaining a safe and healthy environment
- Provide companionship and personalized care with respect and dignity while encouraging independence and self-care.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living including dressing bathing grooming toileting and eating.
- Prepare meals and snacks.
- Perform housekeeping and laundry duties
- Provide mobility and transfer assistance which may include using mechanical lift devices.
- Assist with transportation needs for community outings appointments and errands
- Implement positive behavior supports and de-escalate challenging behaviors when needed.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications :
What Makes You a Great Fit:
- 1 years of DSP/Caregiving experience with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities is required. Experience in residential setting strongly preferred.
- Must have valid drivers license & vehicle to travel between programs and provide transportation to clients
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule (open availability and weekends is required)
- Must be able and willing to learn different supports from medical to behavioral
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must be able to provide references
- Able to attend two weeks of PAID in-house orientation and training
- Have a passion to help others through person-centered care
- People-oriented and have a team approach
- Dependable adaptable and flexible
- Good communication is key in this role. Youll rely on your reading writing and communication skills to document care follow support plans and collaborate with both internal and external team members.
Successful candidates will be required to meet all Oregon State Department of Human Services requirements
