The Department of Language Literature and Arts is seeking a part-time faculty on the San Antonio campus. The successful candidate will direct a lower-division undergraduate section of mariachi ensemble. Mode of delivery is face-to-face and may include day or night classes.
Salary: $3000 per 3-credit course.
Required Education and Experience:
Masters Degree in Music or Music Education or a related field from a regionally accredited institution.
A minimum of 18 graduate hours in music or related field.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Five or more years teaching and conducting a mariachi ensemble at the high school or college level.
Familiarity with music notation software and arrangement techniques.
Familiarity with the needs of a non-traditional first-generation and multicultural student body.
Graduate-level degree in ethnomusicology with emphasis on Latin-American music.
