Purpose
The job of Paraprofessional - Recovery Room is done for the purpose/s of providing support to theinstructional program with specific responsibility for overseeing students referred to the RecoveryRoom; maintaining a safe and quiet environment; assisting students in assessing their behavior; andproviding information to teachers parents and/or other personnel.
Essential Functions
- Assists students with Recovery Room positive actions (e.g. think sheets letter of apologies studentsuccess plans etc.) for the purpose of ensuring actions are completed.
- Attends meetings (e.g. team etc.) for the purpose of acquiring and/or conveying informationrelative to job functions.
- Compiles data for the purpose of preparing reports.
- Maintains confidential and non-confidential manual and electronic documents files and records(e.g. time sheets student success plans Recovery visits etc.) for the purpose of providing accurateinformation in compliance with established administrative guidelines.
- Monitors students during assigned periods (e.g. Recovery Room cafeteria etc.) for the purpose ofproviding a safe and positive learning environment.
- Prepares written documents and reports (e.g. monthly and yearly reports etc.) for the purpose ofcommunicating information to teachers parents and administration.
- Provides verbal and/or written feedback of observations for the purpose of informing teacher/sand/or parents of students progress.
- Reports health and safety issues to assigned administrator and appropriate agencies (e.g. fightssuspected child or substance abuse inappropriate social behaviors etc.) for the purpose ofmaintaining students personal safety a positive learning environment and complying withregulatory requirements and established guidelines.
- Responds to inquiries from a variety of sources (e.g. students teachers administrators and/orparents etc.) for the purpose of solving problems providing information and/or directing to other sources

Responsibility
Responsibilities include: working under limited supervision following standardized practices and/or methods; directing
other persons within a small work unit; monitoring budget expenditures. Utilization of some resources from other work units may be required to perform the jobs functions. There is some opportunity to effect the organizations services.
Work Environment
The usual and customary methods of performing the jobs functions require the following physical demands: occasional
lifting carrying pushing and/or pulling significant stooping kneeling crouching and/or crawling and significant fine
finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 20% sitting 40% walking and 40% standing. The job is performed in a
generally hazard free environment and in a clean atmosphere.
