Salary:
School year rate for current RBT employees; $25.00/hr for non-RBT employees.

Summary:Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT) are support personnel responsible for implementing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) treatment plans under the guidance of the school districts system-wide BCBA or behavior specialist. RBTs use ABA interventions to teach academic communication and social skills including implementing plans to reduce problem behaviors. They provide ABA interventions that encourage socially acceptable replacement behaviors so students can build and improve their communication and social interactions and problem solving skills. RBT shall support crisis and training initiatives in each building as directed by the Coordinator of Behavior Services and/or the Director of Student Services.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care to students in the classroom supported by the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) through discrete trial training and incidental teaching.
- Direct care will be provided both in 1:1 and in group settings with the focus on promoting student independence with academic communication and social skills.
- Assist BCBAs as directed with behavior support plans and skill acquisition plans.
- Collect data on academic communication and social skills through direct observation; as well as problem behaviors identified in the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) and/or Behavior Support Plan (BSP) or 504 Plan.
- Input data on student progress daily.
- Provide and maintain a safe and supportive environment for all students; utilizing CPI techniques as needed.
Measurement: Prepare enter and update all data related to students on caseload.
Assessment: Describe and record students behaviors in measurable terms. RBTs must also assist BCBAs with assessment procedures which vary depending on each students behavioral needs.
Skill Acquisition: With your supervisors create a skill acquisition plan for the student and implement procedures to encourage the students acquisition of the desired skill.
Behavior Reduction: With your supervisors create a behavior reduction plan and implement interventions and differential reinforcement procedures.
Documentation and Reporting: Generate a complete report while complying with all applicable legal regulatory and workplace requirements. This report will involve other variables such as illness and medication notes and other objective observations.
Professional Conduct and Scope of Practice: Maintain clear lines of communication and professional boundaries and implement supervisors feedback to improve your professional performance.
Experience/Training:
- High School Diploma Associate or Bachelor Degree is preferred.
- Bilingual preferred.
- Must have at least 1-3 years of experience providing ABA instruction.
- Must complete or have completed the 40-hour RBT training program.
- Must complete or have completed and passed the RBT Competency Assessment.
- Must maintain RBT credential with the BACB.
- 45-days before the RBT expiration date the following items must be completed:
- Complete Competency Assessment
- Complete Renewal Application
- Log into Gateway Account
- Pay Annual Fee ($35 at own cost) and submit documentation
- Allow two weeks for processing; receive email status
