Job Summary
Position Summary
Gelfand Rennert & Feldman (GRF) is seeking a Royalty Analyst Merchandise Licensing ideally with experience handling complex royalty and/or merch licensing accounting. This position can be based out of White Plains NY or New York NY on a remote basis. The Royalty Analyst role assists the department in conducting compliance examinations on behalf of entertainment clients and other rights holders.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist managers with merchandise licensing audits on behalf of Consumer Products Companies Fortune 500 Companies and other intellectual property rights holders
- Assist with planning audit steps and budgeting for anticipated audit engagements
- Liaise with representatives regarding document requests and review
- Prepare written report of findings including calculations claims and narrative describing procedures performed
- Stay abreast of topics impacting participations such as new exploitation platforms international distribution or new guild agreements
- Organize and manipulate large electronic datasets
- Maintain organization of files
- Draft summarizations of contracts
- Accumulate and summarize data from clients and auditees
- Conduct analysis to create claim schedules
- Conduct fieldwork at auditee offices
- Conduct internet research
- Other projects and duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree is required. Degrees in Accounting Finance Business or Mathematics is preferred
- Over 2 years of experience in a similar role along with royalty software experience is highly preferred
- Advanced proficiency in Excel including Pivot Tables and formulas (such as VLOOKUP and SUMIF) bonus points for experience with Power Pivot and Power Query
- A genuine interest in the merchandise licensing business and merchandise royalties
- Ability to work independently and in an team environment
- Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks to meet strict deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- While not required experience or education in the merchandise licensing business particularly merchandise licensing royalties and royalty audits are beneficial
This is a non-exempt overtime eligible position. The annualized base pay range for this role is expected to be between$75000 - $90000. Actual base pay could vary based on factors including but not limited to experience subject matter expertise geographic location where work will be performed and the applicants skill set. The base pay is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include an annual bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
