Role Purpose
Reporting to the Executive Board the Operations Director will be the architect of the companys fulfillment and logistics ecosystem. You will lead cross-functional teams to optimize end-to-end supply chain flows strictly manage 3PL performance and champion operational excellence initiatives to ensure maximum efficiency and profitability during both BAU (Business As Usual) and mega-campaign peaks.
Key Responsibilities
A. Strategic Leadership & Financial Planning
- Strategic Blueprinting: Define cascade and govern quarterly Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) across the Operations department (Supply Chain Logistics and Ops Excellence).
- P&L & Budget Control: Formulate the annual Operations budget. Establish rigorous monitoring frameworks to track expenditures and ensure cost-efficiency against approved financial targets.
- Continuous Improvement: Champion a culture of operational excellence initiating transformative projects that drive down overall operating costs while elevating service delivery.
B. End-to-End Supply Chain & S&OP Mastery
- S&OP Leadership: Orchestrate the monthly Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) cycle bridging the gap between Commercial forecasting and Supply capabilities.
- Inventory Optimization: Maintain optimal inventory health. Balance the lowest possible Days of Inventory (DOI) while strategically mitigating Out-of-Stock (OOS) risks.
- Lifecycle Management: Oversee the end-to-end Purchase Order (PO) process. Collaborate tightly with Commercial teams to proactively liquidate Slow-Moving and Obsolete (SLOB) stock.
- Capacity Planning: Align inbound inventory forecasts with 3PL warehousing capabilities to ensure bottleneck-free operations.
C. Logistics 3PL & Reverse Flow Management
- Partner Management: Lead the 3PL management unit setting stringent SLAs and enforcing KPIs across a vast network of logistics and fulfillment partners.
- Peak Season Execution: Architect resource planning and command operational execution during high-traffic e-commerce mega-campaigns.
- Reverse Logistics Control: Build robust frameworks for marketplace returns ensuring zero-leakage authorization processes and minimizing non-saleable stock impact.
- Reconciliation & Compliance: Drive routine inventory reconciliations between internal systems and 3PL WMS. Audit and reconcile fulfillment fees charged by external platforms and partners.
- First-Mile & FBP: Ensure seamless pickup/drop-off cycles and coordinate complex inbound flows to marketplace-operated warehouses (Fulfillment by Platform).
D. Operations Excellence & Process Re-engineering
- Process Architecture: Lead the mapping gap analysis and redesign of the entire operational value chain (Demand Planning Procurement Inbound/Outbound Last-mile Returns).
- Lean Methodologies: Implement Lean/Six Sigma principles to eliminate waste reduce failed deliveries and minimize inventory discrepancies.
- Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify systemic vulnerabilities and design robust contingency plans to safeguard business continuity.
- Standardization: Develop update and rigorously enforce internal and external Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Candidate Qualifications
- Experience: 10 years of progressive experience in Supply Chain Fulfillment or Logistics with a minimum of 5 years in senior leadership roles.
- Industry Knowledge: Deep expertise in Omni-channel Retail or E-commerce operations is highly preferred.
- Methodology Expertise: Strong practical background in process mapping activity-based costing and Lean Six Sigma/Continuous Improvement frameworks.
- Analytical Prowess: Highly data-driven with the ability to leverage Business Intelligence (BI) tools for strategic decision-making.
- Leadership Traits: Results-oriented with a strong bias for action exceptional stakeholder management and a track record of developing high-performing teams.
- Education & Language: Bachelors degree required (Masters degree is a strong plus). Fluent in written and spoken English.
