Assignment Details
- Duration: 13 Weeks
- Shift: 40 hours per week (Evenings)
- Timing: 3:00 PM 11:30 PM
- Schedule: Full-time every other weekend rotating holidays
Position Overview
A reputable healthcare facility is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join its long-term care team. This role focuses on delivering high-quality patient care supervising support staff and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations while maintaining a safe and supportive environment for residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care based on individualized care plans and physician orders
- Supervise and support nursing assistants and care staff in daily operations
- Administer medications and treatments safely ensuring proper patient identification
- Monitor patient conditions and maintain accurate clinical documentation
- Transcribe and implement physician orders into medical records and care plans
- Assist physicians during rounds and communicate updates effectively
- Manage admissions transfers and discharges
- Perform clinical procedures such as:
- Wound care
- Catheterization
- Tube feeding
- Suctioning
- Specimen collection
- Record and monitor vital signs (temperature pulse respiration blood pressure)
- Maintain inventory of medications and medical supplies
- Educate patients and families on care plans and health management
- Participate in audits/surveys and ensure regulatory compliance
- Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards
- Support onboarding and orientation of new residents
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality outcomes
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited LPN/nursing program
- Active unrestricted LPN license (Massachusetts)
- Current BLS/CPR/AED certification
- Strong English communication skills (written and verbal)
- Knowledge of long-term care practices and regulations
- Ability to work independently and supervise staff effectively
