Job Type: Contract (13 Weeks)

Assignment Details

  • Duration: 13 Weeks
  • Shift: 40 hours per week (Evenings)
  • Timing: 3:00 PM 11:30 PM
  • Schedule: Full-time every other weekend rotating holidays

Position Overview

A reputable healthcare facility is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join its long-term care team. This role focuses on delivering high-quality patient care supervising support staff and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations while maintaining a safe and supportive environment for residents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care based on individualized care plans and physician orders
  • Supervise and support nursing assistants and care staff in daily operations
  • Administer medications and treatments safely ensuring proper patient identification
  • Monitor patient conditions and maintain accurate clinical documentation
  • Transcribe and implement physician orders into medical records and care plans
  • Assist physicians during rounds and communicate updates effectively
  • Manage admissions transfers and discharges
  • Perform clinical procedures such as:
    • Wound care
    • Catheterization
    • Tube feeding
    • Suctioning
    • Specimen collection
  • Record and monitor vital signs (temperature pulse respiration blood pressure)
  • Maintain inventory of medications and medical supplies
  • Educate patients and families on care plans and health management
  • Participate in audits/surveys and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards
  • Support onboarding and orientation of new residents
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality outcomes

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited LPN/nursing program
  • Active unrestricted LPN license (Massachusetts)
  • Current BLS/CPR/AED certification
  • Strong English communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Knowledge of long-term care practices and regulations
  • Ability to work independently and supervise staff effectively
