Job Title: Financial Controller

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to oversee the financial operations of the organization and ensure the integrity of all accounting and reporting functions. This role will be responsible for managing financial statements budgeting forecasting regulatory compliance internal controls and strategic financial planning. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership capabilities deep accounting expertise and the ability to provide data-driven insights that support executive decision-making. Prior experience in the banking or credit union industry is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

1. Oversee daily accounting operations including general ledger maintenance journal entries and month-end/year-end close processes.
2. Prepare review and analyze monthly quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
3. Manage account reconciliations and ensure accuracy completeness and timeliness of financial records.
4. Develop and monitor annual budgets forecasts and financial models to support business planning.
5. Analyze financial performance variances trends and key metrics providing recommendations to leadership.
6. Ensure compliance with financial regulations internal policies and industry-specific requirements.
7. Establish maintain and improve internal controls to safeguard company assets and reduce financial risk.
8. Supervise mentor and develop accounting staff while fostering a high-performance team environment.
9. Coordinate with external auditors examiners tax professionals and regulatory agencies during audits and reviews.
10. Prepare management reports and executive summaries to support strategic decision-making.
11. Oversee cash flow management banking relationships and liquidity planning.
12. Maintain proficiency with accounting systems ERP platforms and advanced Microsoft Excel tools for reporting and analysis.
13. Support continuous process improvement initiatives to streamline accounting and finance operations.
14. Collaborate cross-functionally with department heads and stakeholders on financial planning and operational goals.
15. Perform additional finance and accounting duties as assigned by senior leadership

Required Qualifications

1. 3 Years as Controller.
2. Strong Experience in Technical Accounting.
3. Expertise in General Ledger Accounting Reconciliation and Financial Reporting.
4. Strong experience in Budgeting and Forecasting.
5. CPA (or) CMA Certification is strongly Preferred.
