Job Title: IT Data Engineer

Location: Chesterfield MO 63017

Duration: 06 Months with possibility of extension

Work Type: Hybrid - 3 days onsite required

Description:

Were hiring a Data Engineer to build and maintain scalable data pipelines and analytics solutions across cloud and Microsoft platforms. Youll design ELT/ETL processes integrate APIs optimize SQL and BigQuery workflows and deliver dashboards and apps in Power BI and Power Apps. Strong experience with Microsoft Fabric dataflows R and Python and modern data engineering best practices is required.
Key skills: Power BI Power Apps Google BigQuery Microsoft Fabric (dataflows) advanced SQL API integrations (REST/OAuth) Python and/or R.

Responsibilities:

  • Architect and build Power Apps (canvas and model-driven) for business workflows.
  • Design and delivery of Power BI solutions.
  • Build and optimize advanced SQL queries stored procedures and BigQuery performance tuning (partitioning clustering query cost optimization).
  • Design implement and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using BigQuery Microsoft Fabric dataflows and other tooling.
  • Integrate with external and internal APIs (REST OAuth rate-limiting handling) transform and load data into BigQuery and Fabric OneLake.
  • Develop reusable data models and curated datasets for analytics and reporting.
  • Use R and/or Python for data processing statistical analysis and building reproducible data workflows.
  • Collaborate with data scientists analysts and product owners to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Proactively anticipate future data and reporting needs propose practical improvements and lead their implementation to keep analytics and apps scalable and business-ready
  • Thrives in fast-paced environments managing multiple concurrent projects with strong prioritization clear communication and disciplined execution.
  • Required qualifications:
  • Power Apps (canvas & model driven) - 2 years; Power BI (end to end DAX tuning) - 3 years.
  • Advanced SQL stored procedures BigQuery tuning (partitioning/clustering) - 4 years; ETL/ELT (BigQuery Fabric dataflows) - 2 years.
  • API integrations (REST/OAuth rate limit/retries) - 2 years; reusable data models/curated datasets - 3 years; R/Python for data workflows - 2 years.
  • Proven ability to translate requirements lead scalable analytics improvements and manage multiple projects with clear communication and strong prioritization.
