Job Summary

What You Will Do:

As an Operator you will play an essential role within our Anchorage Field Construction department reporting to the Construction & Main Supervisor. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Operate power construction equipment to install gas lines.
  • Excavate move and grade earth; transport and dump loose materials such as brush stumps and classified material.
  • Perform duties related to the installation and maintenance of the gas distribution system including plastic pipe fusion and pipe wrapping.
  • Assist in loading pipe onto trucks or trailers.
  • Assist in unloading shipments of incoming pipe and materials.
  • Assist in maneuvering fusion or other equipment around job site.
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance and minor repairs.
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.

What You Will Bring:

  • Knowledge skill and ability to operate heavy equipment.
  • Intermediate knowledge of construction practices and piped distribution systems; ability to perform related tasks.
  • Ability to work safely.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively interact with individuals within and outside of ENSTAR.
  • Ability to wear and use ENSTARs approved Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA).
  • Ability to be self-directed perform successfully in a multi-task environment and effectively contribute individually or as part of a team.
  • Apply knowledge of commercial driving regulations and skill in maneuvering vehicle in difficult situations.
  • Ability to learn and understand ENSTARs Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Preferred skills and qualifications:

  • Must maintain a positive work atmosphere through effective interactions and communications with co-workers customers and management.
  • Must maintain a safe environment for co-workers customers and the public through adherence to established safety standards and timely reporting of potential hazards.
  • Must adhere to ENSTARs policies and procedures related to the code of business ethics compliance responsible use of assets and all applicable state and federal laws.
