Montessori Elementary Teacher

Montessori Elementary Teacher. School District of Kansas City 33 d/b/a Kansas City Public Schools. Kansas City Missouri. This position will teach elementary school classes. Direct students activities academically emotionally and physically in a prepared Montessori environment in accordance with Montessori philosophy and procedures. Develop lesson plans and manage the learning experiences for students. Assist students toward self-directed learning and normalization. Maintain a prepared environment consistent with Montessori pedagogy. Work collaboratively with the Montessori Assistant around daily routines. Prepare Montessori lessons for students. Collect data to track student performance. Counsel students when adjustment and academic problems arise. Discuss students academic and behavioral issues and achievements with parents. Participate in program planning committees and parent involvement activities. Instruct students in practice of personal cleanliness and self-care. Engage students in alternate periods of strenuous activity with periods of rest and light activity. Plan individual and group activities to stimulate growth in language social and motor skills. Help children develop habits of caring for their materials as well as classroom materials. Attend various meetings including parent conferences orientation Professional Development sessions and in service training sessions. Requires a Bachelors degree in Education or related degree. Requires Missouri State Teacher Certification in Elementary Education (1-6). Requires Montessori endorsement (AMI or AMS diploma).
