Full Time Music Teacher
Holy Cross Academy Fredericksburg Virginia

Holy Cross Academy a Preschool8th grade coeducational Catholic school of approximately 475 students is seeking a full-time Music Teacher for the school year. The successful candidate will inspire a love of music while supporting the schools mission of forming young men and women to be saints scholars and leaders in the image of our Lord Jesus Christ and our Blessed Mother.

Holy Cross Academy is the parish school of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church in the Diocese of Arlington.

Position Overview

Teach general music for PreschoolGrade 6 and lead choral (Grades 5th-8th) and theatre performance programs (Grades 4th8th) fostering creativity musical literacy and a lifelong appreciation for music.

Key Responsibilities

Teach general music (PK36th grade)
Direct school choir (Grades 5th8th)
Lead major performances such as Christmas concert spring musical class productions and graduation programs
Collaborate on performances with parish choirs and events such as Pueri Cantores festivals
Provide piano accompaniment for liturgies and school events as needed
Use diverse age-appropriate instructional methods (singing movement instruments theory history)
Collaborate with faculty to support school programs and mission

Qualifications

Practicing Catholic committed to Catholic education
Bachelors degree in Music Education or Music
Proficiency in piano accompaniment
Experience teaching elementary and middle school music
Experience in choral direction and ensemble work
Experience in theatre direction and choreography
