Job Summary
CLASS TITLE: District Clinical Nurse CLASS CODE: 7261
REPORTS TO: Superintendent/Designee EXEMPT STATUS: Exempt
BASIC FUNCTION:
Provide clinical leadership coordination and oversight of district health services. Support student and staff health needs through direct care consultation and the development and monitoring of health protocols and systems that promote a safe and healthy learning environment.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
- Provide clinical oversight and support for district health services and school-based nursing staff
- Deliver direct clinical care to students and staff as appropriate within scope of practice
- Develop implement and monitor health plans protocols and procedures in alignment with district goals and legal requirements
- Collaborate to support student & staff health attendance and access
- Serve as a liaison between schools families healthcare providers and community agencies
- Support management of chronic health conditions communicable disease response and health-related emergencies
- Ensure compliance with applicable local state and federal laws regulations and district policies
- Maintain accurate health records reports and required documentation
- Provide guidance and training to staff related to student health needs and safety protocols
- Demonstrate punctuality professionalism appropriate appearance and consistent reliable attendance
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of clinical nursing practices school health services and student health needs
- Ability to assess plan and implement appropriate clinical interventions
- Ability to manage sensitive health information with professionalism and confidentiality
- Effective communication organization and problem-solving skills
- Ability to use technology including electronic health records and reporting systems
- Adhere to the Professional Code of Ethics and follow all board and school policies
- Frequent movement including walking bending reaching and lifting up to 25 lbs repetitively.
- Requires speech vision and hearing capabilities.
- Work involves both indoor and occasional outdoor activity.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Masters degree required
- Current Kentucky licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) required
- Minimum of three (3) years of relevant clinical experience
