Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Database Engineer to join our software development team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database design implementation and management with a focus on optimizing performance and ensuring data integrity. You will work closely with software developers and other stakeholders to create efficient database solutions that meet business needs.

Responsibilities:

• Design develop and maintain database systems to support software applications.
• Optimize database performance through indexing query optimization and data modeling.
• Ensure data integrity and security by implementing appropriate measures and best practices.
• Collaborate with software development teams to integrate database solutions into applications.
• Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
• Document database designs processes and procedures for future reference.
• Stay updated with the latest database technologies and trends.

Mandatory Skills:

• Proven experience in database design and management (SQL NoSQL).
• Strong knowledge of database performance tuning and optimization techniques.
• Experience with database backup and recovery strategies.
• Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries and stored procedures.
• Familiarity with database security practices.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with cloud-based database solutions (e.g. AWS RDS Azure SQL).
• Knowledge of data warehousing and ETL processes.
• Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or Java.
• Experience with database migration and upgrade processes.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field.
• 5-7 years of experience in database engineering or a related role.
• Relevant certifications (e.g. Oracle Microsoft or AWS) are a plus.
