Role Overview

Werelooking for a hands-onData Engineerto help shape and scale the next generation of theGoodHabitzdata platform.

Youllwork across cloud data infrastructure data pipelineslakehousearchitecture automation governance and analytics enablement. This role is central to building a secure scalable and efficient data platform that helps teams move quickly and make trusted data-driven decisions.

Youllpartner closely with engineering analytics and business teams to create reliable data products improve data delivery pipelinesoptimizecloud resources and support a modern cloud-native architecture running primarily on Amazon Web Services using Databricks.

Key Responsibilities

Data Platform Engineering

• Design build andoperatescalable data infrastructure on AWS
• Develop andmaintainbatch and streaming pipelines using Databricks and Spark
• Improve reliability scalability performance and resilience of data systems
• Support modernlakehousearchitecture and enterprise analytics use cases

Medallion Architecture & Data Modeling

• Design and maintainBronze Silver and Golddata layers following Medallion Architecture
• Build trusted datasets for reporting analytics and self-service consumption
• Improve data quality lineage consistency and governance standards
• Support reusable and scalable data models across business domains

Infrastructure as Code & Terraform

• Buildmaintain and evolve infrastructure using Terraform
• Design reusable well-structured Terraform modules for shared data platform capabilities
• Improve standards for versioning testing documentation and lifecycle management
• Collaborate with teams to safely provision resources throughIaCworkflows

Environments & Deployment

• Support and manage two environments across development and production
• Improve deployment automation and release consistency between environments
• Ensure stable promotion paths for pipelines infrastructure and platform changes
• Contribute to CI/CD standards and DevOps best practices

Security Governance & Reliability

• Implement secure access controls IAM roles and least privilege principles
• Support monitoring alerting logging and operational excellence across the platform
• Contribute to data governance privacy and compliance initiatives
• Troubleshoot incidents and continuously improve reliability

Cost Optimization & Efficiency

• Monitor andoptimizeAWS and Databricks platform spend
• Improve workload efficiency clusterutilization and resource management
• Partner with teams to design cost-conscious data solutions

• Strong hands-on experience with Databricks on AWS
• Strong SQL skills and experience with PythonPySpark or Scala
• Experience building modern ETL / ELT pipelines
• Strong hands-on experience with Terraform
• Experience managing multiple environments and deployment workflows
• Strongunderstanding of Medallion Architecture andlakehouseprinciples
• Experience with Delta Lake partitioning optimization and performance tuning
• Understanding of cloud security best practices
• Experience improving platform reliability and developer workflows
• Strong communicationand collaboration skills

Nice to Have

• Experience with Unity Catalog or modern governance tooling
• Experience with CI/CD platforms such as GitLab GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps
• Experience with orchestration tools such as Airflow or Databricks Workflows
• AWS or Databricks certifications
• Experience in SaaS or product-led environments
• FinOps / cloud cost optimization experience
