We are seeking an experienced automotive diagnostic professional to join our Group Aftersales Technical Team.
This role is ideally suited to a Master Technician High Voltage Expert or Diagnostic Technician who is looking to take the next step in their career beyond the workshop while remaining at the forefront of vehicle technology and fault diagnosis.
Working across Volkswagen Audi Škoda SEAT CUPRA and Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles the successful candidate will provide technical support to our national retailer network assisting with complex vehicle concerns supporting diagnostic investigations and helping to develop technical capability across the network.
This is a unique opportunity to join a high-performing team at the centre of Volkswagen Group Irelands aftersales operation and work directly with retailers factory technical teams and emerging vehicle technologies.
Key Responsibilities
Provide technical support and diagnostic guidance for complex vehicle concerns across all Volkswagen Group brands.
Support retailers in identifying root causes and implementing effective repairs using approved Volkswagen Group diagnostic systems including ODIS DISS and Elsa.
Carry out retailer visits to support complex technical cases and field investigations where required.
Work closely with retailer technicians and workshop management to develop diagnostic capability and technical standards.
Support and mentor technicians in areas such as advanced diagnostics electrical systems high-voltage technology and repair quality.
Represent Volkswagen Group Ireland at factory technical meetings and communicate key technical information to the Irish retailer network.
Contribute to Service Dialogue meetings quality reviews and technical forums.
Collaborate with Technical Services Training Warranty and Brand teams to identify trends and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Assist with product quality investigations and field actions as required.
Candidate Profile
Essential
Qualified Motor Technician (National Craft Certificate or equivalent).
Minimum 5 years experience in an advanced diagnostic or technical support role within the automotive industry.
Strong fault-finding and diagnostic capability across electrical electronic and mechanical vehicle systems.
Experience using manufacturer diagnostic equipment and technical information systems.
Ability to communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
Full clean EU driving licence.
Willingness to travel throughout Ireland as part of a field-based role.
Desirable
Volkswagen Group Master Technician qualification.
High Voltage Expert (EV) qualification.
Experience using Volkswagen Group systems including ODIS DISS and Elsa.
Previous experience in technical support field force technical training or retailer support roles.
Experience working with electric vehicle and high-voltage systems.
