The HSE has created six new health regions. Each region is responsible for providing both hospital and community care for the people in that area. Bringing community health services and hospitals together means we can take a more patient-centred approach to healthcare.
HSE Dublin North East provides health and social care to North Dublin Louth Meath Monaghan and most areas of Cavan.
Community Healthcare Services are delivered through the HSE and its funded agencies to people in local communities as close as possible to peoples homes. Community Healthcare Services focus on keeping you well so that you can continue to live at home or close to home through our health promotion disease screening diagnosis treatment and rehabilitation programs. You can refer yourself to most Community Healthcare Services or through your GP public health nurse community mental health team etc. Services include - Primary Care Social Care - Older Persons Social Care Disabilities Mental Health Health and Wellbeing Quality Safety and Service Improvement.

The person appointed to this role will work as part of the multidisciplinary network team and the wider Physiotherapy team for Community Healthcare Balbriggan Area S/he may be required to work as a key worker for particular cases. The Senior Paediatric Physiotherapist will work in conjunction with the wider Paediatric Primary Care Physiotherapy team members across the Balbriggan Network to provide a quality evidenced based paediatric Physiotherapy service. There may be a requirement to work across networks as Paediatric service demands require.
The Balbriggan Area Network is one of 12 Community Healthcare Networks part of the Primary Care division of Integrated Health Area Dublin North County serving a population of approximately 62000. It provides clinic-based and domiciliary-based services to four Primary Care Teams (PCTs) in the network. The network team work closely with acute and disability services in the area.
The Balbriggan Network team provide a dynamic and holistic service to service users in the network and strive to deliver quality and meaningful interventions in an efficient manner. The Physiotherapy team within the network work to provide quality client-centred physiotherapy assessment and treatment to identified client groups as directed by the Physiotherapy Manager.
Therapists have access to a Physiotherapy gym in Balbriggan Primary Care Centre to carry out interventions as well as home-based services.
The network actively supports student education and participates in the student training scheme for Health & Social Care Professionals and with Irish Universities. All students are allocated a named supervisor and engage in formal supervision.
