Job Summary

Your role at St John of God Warrnambool Hospital

We are seeking a Scanning Clerk to support our administrative work by accurately and efficiently scanning health record documents and maintaining the Scanned Health Record System (SHRS).

This is a fixed term part-time role (contract until April 2027) with flexible working hours offering 20 hours per fortnight.

The Position

  • Accurate and timely scanning of health record documents in the Scanned Health Record System (SHRS).

  • Prepare health records for scanning.

  • Upload electronic documents into the SHRS.

  • Perform quality activities on scanned documents.

  • Correct identified anomalies in the SHRS.

  • Retrieval of medical records for requests.

  • Retrieval of medical records for clinic lists for the following working days.

  • Tracking and Filing of medical records back to home locations i.e. HIS main and secondary storage locations.

  • Collect and sort mail for the department. Assist with ordering and unpacking of stationary and medical record form supplies required and received by the department.

  • Culling and destruction of medical records.

  • Assist with audits undertaken by the department.

  • Attend to photocopying/printing for information requests including medico-legal.

You will have sound written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prioritise and multitask to achieve desired outcomes and demonstrate strong attention to detail.

To succeed you will have sound computer literacy with the ability to accurately and efficiently enter data and the flexibility to work a range of shifts including additional shifts as required.

The Benefits:

  • Salary: $60173 to $61903 per annum (pro rata basis for part-time) plus 12% superannuation

  • Permanent part-time role up to 20 hours per fortnight.
