Join our close-knit Chemical Management teaminUnity Lab Services where we provide integrated lab services support and supply management tailored to our customers unique an upbeat Chemical Management Specialist to manage chemical inventory and ensure labsremainstocked compliant and running efficiently.
A day in the Life:
Verify chemical inventory levels locations andexpirationdates by performing bench audits and full-cycle counts using barcode scanners.
Receive inspect label and store incoming chemical shipments according to compatibility guidelines and DOT regulations.
Pick pack and stage chemical orders for distribution or disposalmaintaining100% accuracy and adherence to storage protocols.
Read and interpret Safety Data Sheets (SDS) to applyaccuratehandling storage and spill-response procedures.
Identifyand help resolve discrepancies in chemical handling storage conditions or inventory records.
Collaborate closely with Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) and team members to uphold safety standards refine workflows and train new team members.
May perform other duties as assigned by management.
Keys to Success:
Education
High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
Experience
0-1 year ofcustomer-serviceexperience in a laboratory warehouse or similar environment.
Knowledge Skills Abilities
Proficiencywith Microsoft 365 applications (Excel Outlook Teams).
Strong attention to detail organizational skills and a safety-first approach.
Ability to read and understand SDS documentation and DOT labeling requirements.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Physical Requirements / Work Environment
The role primarily involves working independently at customer sites which may include areas with chemical-based allergens like penicillin and tetracycline.
Personal protective equipment such as lab coats coveralls facemasks and steel-toe shoes is oftenrequired.
The position requires regular lifting of 30-40lbs(up to 50lbsoccasionally) and using equipment like pushcarts and forklifts to move up to 100 lbs.
Standing walking and manual material handling of chemical containers are frequent activities sometimes in varied temperature environments.
Overtime work may also be necessary.
