To provide specialized support in vetting and marine assurance activities by assessing vessels and technical managers to ensure compliance with applicable safety operational and regulatory standards and their suitability for Repsol operations and contracts while contributing to the continuous improvement of Vetting processes and systems
Key Responsibilities
Carry out vetting activities including the evaluation review screening and clearance of vessels to determine compliance with industry standards and suitability for use by Repsol.
Assess the suitability of newly identified Time Charter (TC) technical operators and vessels proposed for Time Charter employment.
Support the Repsol Vetting Team in the consistent application of Marine Assurance policies and procedures providing guidance to business units to ensure uniform implementation.
Provide technical support and marine assurance advice to Charterers Operators Logistics Teams and other shipping-related activities as required.
Contribute to the development review and continuous improvement of vetting processes procedures tools and data analytics with the objective of enhancing system efficiency and effectiveness.
Maintain and ensure the quality integrity and accuracy of information contained in the Repsol Vetting Marine Assurance System (RVMAS) and other relevant databases.
Identify define develop implement and monitor functional and operational improvements to the RVMAS system.
Lead or actively participate in projects and initiatives promoted by the Repsol Vetting area.
Maintain professional interaction with industry stakeholders and counterparts including participation in industry working groups when required.
Prepare reports technical analyses and supporting documentation related to Vetting activities.
Required Education and Qualifications
Class II/2 or III/2 Certificate of Competency (Master Mariner or Chief Engineer) with seagoing experience as Master / Chief Officer or Chief Engineer / Second Engineer on board oil gas or chemical tankers; or
An equivalent professional maritime qualification with experience in the shipping industry and demonstrated knowledge in the management of tanker operations.
Required Experience
Advanced technical experience in marine operations particularly in tanker vessels.
Solid knowledge of OCIMF standards including SIRE and TMSA.
Experience in risk assessment methodologies and incident investigation techniques.
