The Position
The Adler Planetarium is seeking an Accounting Specialist to join our dynamic team on Chicagos Museum Campus. The Accounting Specialist provides a variety of financial and accounting support across accounts payable accounts receivable payroll and employee expense reports.
This individual will also be responsible for:
Managing all aspects of the accounts payable process
Processing payroll on a predetermined schedule
Recording accounts receivable invoices and other miscellaneous cash receipts
Overseeing employee expenses including corporate credit cards and employee reimbursements
Supporting Accounting/Financial Management monthly and year-end tasks and special projects
The Work Schedule
The typical work schedule for this position is 35 hours per week from 9 AM to 5 PM (including lunch) with a flextime and telecommuting option2 days per week telecommuting and 3 days on-site at the museum.
The Compensation & Benefits (Full-Time)
Base Pay Range: $26.14-$29.04/hr

The Person
The ideal candidate for the Accounting Department is a proactive and dedicated individual who consistently strives for excellence. Required Qualifications:
Associates Degree
Three or more years of professional experience
Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Word) and Google Suite (Drive Sheets Forms and Docs)
Proficiency in computerized A/P and payroll systems
Detail-oriented with analytical skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Accounting
Five or more years of professional experience
Experience with Sage Intacct accounting system
Experience with ADP Workforce Now payroll system
Experience with Ramp bill pay and credit card expenses platform
