Job Summary

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelors degree or higher from a recognized accredited college or university;
  2. Texas certification in Elementary or Secondary Education;
  3. Texas certification in an area of special education preferred;
  4. A minimum of three (3) years of successful experience as a classroom teacher;
  5. Successful experience with at-risk students flexible regrouping and ELAR instruction;
  6. Demonstrated skills in leading motivating coaching and teaching other teachers;
  7. Strong knowledge and understanding of state testing program including accommodations.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Probationary/Term Contract: 197 days

SALARY:

$67640/IA-3

Salary Range (based on experience) as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Provide direct coaching staff development modeling and campus consultation in the implementation of effective researched based instructional strategies and interventions of the English Language Arts and Reading TEKS.
  2. Work with special education and general education teachers curriculum coaches coordinators and administrators to facilitate the implementation of interventions.
  3. Consult with campus staff to interpret the TEKS analyze reading/writing assessment results and to plan effective instruction to meet individual IEPs.
  4. Collaborate with special education curriculum coordinators and other coaches to analyze assessment results and plan effective interventions for instructional targets.
  5. Assist in the selection and implementation of reading/language arts materials.
  6. Attend and contribute to campus team planning sessions.
  7. Assist in the development of accommodations and modifications of assessments that are appropriate in depth and complexity of content as well as aligned with TEKS.
  8. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.
  9. Complete other duties as assigned by the assistant superintendent for educational support services the director and assistant director of special education services and the special education curriculum coordinators.

Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent standing stooping bending pulling and pushing. Move small stacks of textbooks media equipment desks and other classroom equipment.
