Parts Room Supervisor

Salary Range: $46441 - $74769

The purpose of this classification is to supervise the day-to-day operations and staff involved in maintaining inventory and issuing parts for all vehicles and equipment assigned to the Fleet Management Division.

The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar related or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.

Supervises directs and evaluates assigned staff; develops and oversees employee work schedules to ensure adequate coverage and control; compiles and reviews timesheets; approves/processes employee concerns and problems and counsels or disciplines as appropriate; assists with or completes employee performance appraisals; directs work; acts as a liaison between employees and management; and trains staff in operations policies and procedures.

Processes parts orders; receives parts orders or work orders; verifies part numbers; checks stock and pending orders;supervises issuance of requisitioned parts; and handles informal requests.

Performs inventory control; receives parts; verifies correct parts and quantities are received; moves parts into correct location in storeroom; updates inventory records; and performs spot checks to ensure accuracy of inventory records.

Monitors outstanding orders and vendors; checks status of parts on order; makes follow-up calls to vendors to expedite deliveries; maintains performance records for vendors; negotiates prices with vendors; and arranges product training.

Receives parts and adds to inventory; performs the receiving function for parts; verifies correct delivery parts and quantities; moves parts into correct location in storeroom; and updates inventory records.

High school diploma or GED required; three years of experience in parts ordering and inventory control; or any equivalent combination of education training and experience which provides the requisite knowledge skills and abilities for this job.

Specific License or Certification Required: Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia drivers license.
