You will apply your strategic and analytical skills as Chief of Staff to the National Private Equity Practice Leader (PL). You will partner with senior leadership to develop and drive strategy and operational processes. This role will be a balance between operations project and process management change management execution and strategy and will be responsible for enabling leadership to be as effective as possible in driving the strategy for the PE Practice. You should be passionate about business strategy management operations and people. This is an ideal opportunity to grow in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment.

Strategic Partner to the Practice Leader

The central dimension of this role is serving as a fully aligned strategic partner to the Private Equity PL. The PL builds you run. Your success is measured by the PLs ability to say they cannot operate effectively without your partnership.

  • PL Capacity Extender: Leverage the PL to be in the market by keeping the engine running and all wheels turning in the same direction. Drive and support strategic initiatives specific to the PE practice coordinate with and support Local Service Line Leaders (LSLLs) and own weekly monthly and quarterly agendas materials and facilitation for various audiences.
  • Workforce Management: Connect the dots between staffing recruiting finance and pipeline to drive workforce efficiency. Translate what the market is demanding into hiring decisions in a meaningful and timely way.
  • Feedback Loop with Marketing & BD: Significantly increase the connective tissue between Marketing and the PE practice. Drive conversation between what our leaders are experiencing in the market to inform Marketing strategy.
  • FP&A Partnership: Accelerate the maturity of the FP&A model for the PE practice enabling the PL to fully shift from backward-looking reviews to truly using data to drive decisions.

As a result you will support revenue growth cost of sales control and margin protection for the National PE Practice.

What Youll Do:

  • Business Strategy: Develop business strategy in partnership with leadership that will drive growth profitability and success for the PE practice; hold leadership accountable for driving strategy forward.
  • Leadership Relationships: Develop strong relationships with key business and functional leadership based upon strong competencies respect and experience.
  • Team Development: May manage and develop direct reports as the team continues to grow. Coach and mentor team members with a goal of developing and retaining talent at CrossCountry.
  • Process Improvement: Identify key people process and technology pain points within the PE practice and develop appropriate strategies to improve and streamline processes for both ease and scalability.
  • Change Management: Work with key players within Operations and leadership to execute key change management initiatives.
  • Communications: Develop and execute a communications plan; liaise with key players within Operations to ensure the plan is aligned with firm-wide communication strategy.
  • Financial Planning: Work closely with leadership and central operational functions to set annual budgets goals and actively manage concerns related to execution of strategy.
  • Financial Analysis: Partner with FP&A to establish KPIs review and analyze financials and key metrics; participate in design of analyses that will illuminate issues and resolutions; translate reporting on trends into suggested actions
  • Operations POC: Serve as the operations point of contact for events and meetings; share key Operations updates to the PE practice.
  • Contribute to developing and implementing firm-approved AI-enabled solutions for clients in accordance with company policies on data protection intellectual property and professional standards.
  • Stay informed about emerging AI tools and techniques and collaborate with firm leadership to identify compliant opportunities to enhance client solutions and internal processes.

What Youll Bring:

  • Minimum 8-10 years experience in a professional services or finance-focused landscape; prior exposure to private equity clients or PE-adjacent environments is a plus.
  • High-quality professional presentation skills including excellent writing and public speaking capabilities; ability to project a professional demeanor at all times to stakeholders of all levels. Open and honest communicator with excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to operate independently without close supervision; ability to call out challenges and recommend solutions. Strong understanding of priorities and adherence to deadlines.
  • Superior proficiency in standard PC programs (Word Excel PowerPoint). Comfortable utilizing AI tools to enable workflow (Copilot Claude ChatGPT).
  • Ability to work constructively and flexibly in a team environment and to support and guide leadership strategy.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously.
  • High energy enthusiasm flexibility and a great sense of humor.
  • Experience working with professional services or consulting firms.
  • Comfort with AI: Demonstrated ability to responsibly explore and adopt firm-approved AI tools to enhance productivity and innovation.
  • Continuous Learning Mindset: Openness to learning and applying emerging technologies including AI and automation in alignment with firm policies and client standard

Qualifications:
