Job Summary

Based in Portland Oregon we work primarily in the 11-western states with regional offices in Reno NV; Phoenix AZ; Richmond CA; and Salt Lake City UT.
As a Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) Technician youll support our project teams in the development and coordination of construction deliverables derived from 3D models. Youll be responsible for interpreting design drawings within a 3D environment preparing fabrication and installation drawings and supporting field teams through model-based workflows. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented adaptable and eager to grow within a fast-paced construction and VDC environment.Work hours are 5:30am to 2:30pm Monday-Friday (with potential of overtime as needed).
This position is in person and not eligible for remote work. You will work with our team at ourPhoenix Central Office at the following address: 4645 S 35th St Phoenix AZ 85040.

VDC Techs at Harder perform the following daily tasks:
- Clean and prepare isometric drawings for spool fabrication
- Generate orthographic drawings to support field installation
- Create TruView files from 3D models for field use
- Perform quality control checks on drawing deliverables
- Coordinate with modelers and project teams to meet drawing and project requirements
- Additional tasks as needed by the project teams
- Strong attention to detail to recognize issues before they become problems
- Flexibility to adapt to changing tasks and project needs
- Willingness and eagerness to learn new tools and processes
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Interest in joining UA local469 to further training and education in VDC
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD Plant3D and Revit (model navigation and understanding required; modeling experience is a plus)
- General computer proficiency (document control email file management)
- Experience working Navisworks and Bluebeam preferred
- Basic understanding of piping systems and construction workflows preferred
