Job Summary

Job Summary:
The Freight Auditoris responsible forauditing carrier invoices approving payments and serving as the primary point of contact for resolving billing issues. This roleidentifiesoperational issues offers process improvement recommendations and manages a defined portfolio of accounts alongside various cross-functional projects. The Freight Auditor reports directly to the Director of Audit.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Audit and process freight invoices with accuracy and efficiency.

  • Partner with carriers to review aging reports and resolve billing discrepanciesin a timely manner.

  • Establish andmaintaineffective communication channels internally and externally.

  • Contribute to the creation and documentation of standard operating procedures.

  • Manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced high-volume environment.

  • Quickly learn and proficiently operate multiple software systems on a daily basis.

  • Support the implementation of new systems and processes as needed.

  • Collaborate with the integration team toidentifyand resolve system or process issues.

RequiredSkills/Abilities:

  • Experience in freight billing accounts payable ora relatedaccounting function preferred.

  • Strong analytical skills with keen attention to detail.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.

  • Proficiencyin Microsoft Office; experience with transportation management or accountingsoftwarea plus.

  • Self-motivated with a demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors orAssociatesdegree ina related field

  • Transportation and/or auditing experiencepreferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Physical dexterity sufficient to use hands arms and shoulders repetitively tooperatea keyboard and other office equipment use a telephone access file cabinets and other items stored at various levels includingoverhead

  • Ability to speak and hear well enough to communicate clearly and understandably with sufficient volume to ensurean accurateexchange of information in normal conversational distance over the telephone and in a groupsetting

  • Ability to continuouslyoperatea personal computer for extended periods of time (4 or more hours)

  • Mental acuity sufficient to collect and interpret data evaluate reason define problemsestablishfacts draw valid conclusions make valid judgments anddecisions
