Job Summary

SPEECH/LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST (1.0 FTE)

Start date 8/26/2026 with new faculty oriention held on 8/21/26 & 8/24/26. Lincoln Campus

Primary Purpose

To assess and treat students with speech language voice and fluency disorders within the educational setting.

Contractual Relationship

Reports to Administrator for Student Services and Building Principal

Organizational Relationship

Reports to the Administrator for Student Services and the Building Principal.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Selects administers and interprets speech/language evaluations. Uses evaluation results and/or data to determine strengths and concerns in the areas of speech voice fluency pragmatics language and oral motor skills in order to develop appropriate student speech/language therapy goals.
  2. Develops and adheres to weekly speech/language therapy schedule of services and prepares materials and therapy space for instructional activities.
  3. Provides high quality direct IEP/504 team-determined speech/language therapy services that are strength-based and child-centered.
  4. Participates in Child Find screenings
  5. Assisting and guiding teachers in observing describing and referring suspected and identified speech and language delays/disorders.
  6. Maintains thorough confidential documentation of speech-language therapy sessions
  7. Serves as a member of an interdisciplinary team and participates in the student support team IEP staffing and eligibility meetings as required.
  8. Develops Individual Education Programs for students receiving speech/language therapy services and implements therapy sessions that target IEP goals.
  9. Pursues continuing education opportunities that facilitate relevant and appropriate professional growth in order to maintain professional certification/licensure.
  10. Collaborates/communicates with school staff parents and community service providers to ensure that students skills are generalized across settings.
  11. Keeps current with developments in the field by participating in professional opportunities.
  12. Prepares for scheduled sessions and has written evidence of preparation upon request.
  13. Assists in designing developing and implementing alternate communication systems and strategies.
  14. Able to provide information concernign the nature purpose and outcome of speech/lnaguage therapy services to students parents and professionals.
  15. Other duties as assigned by the Administrator for Student Services and the building Principal

Qualifications

  • State of Massachusetts Speech Audiology and Hearing Licensure
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence
  • State of Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Speech and Language Teacher.
  • School based experience preferred.
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills and an ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Be committed to meeting the needs of a diverse student population.
