Estimator

The opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our Energy and Utilities Water team. Reporting to the Regional Estimating Manager you will play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely project cost estimates are delivered in line with technical standards client requirements and Downer values. This role supports the successful delivery of civil and water infrastructure projects that make a real difference to communities.

What we are looking for

You will bring strong estimating experience within the construction industry along with a collaborative and detail focused approach.


Key skills and experience include

• Experience preparing accurate estimates within the construction sector

• Exposure to civil and water infrastructure projects is highly regarded

• Ability to develop and deliver tender strategies within agreed timeframes

• Experience interpreting client requirements and managing estimating deliverables

• Capability in quantity take offs subcontractor pricing and material cost reviews

• Sound understanding of labour rates enterprise agreements and cost controls

• Intermediate skills across Microsoft Office and estimating databases

• Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships

Qualifications and background

• Trade qualification desirable

• Undergraduate engineering degree desirable

• Minimum five years experience in the construction industry
