Job Summary
Job Summary (List Format) Applications Architect
- Serve as an Applications Architect in large-scale enterprise environments preferably within Medicaid or public sector settings.
- Collaborate effectively with agency staff contractors and vendors in a team-based highly regulated environment.
- Ensure strict compliance with agency security confidentiality application development and data governance requirements including state and federal data compliance.
- Apply expertise in enterprise application architecture patterns (layered/n-tier microservices cloud-native event-driven domain-driven design) and solution architecture practices (reference architectures patterns guardrails).
- Design and integrate APIs (REST/JSON GraphQL gRPC) asynchronous messaging event streaming and enterprise service buses; manage API gateways.
- Implement identity security and compliance measures (OAuth 2.0 OpenID Connect SSO RBAC encryption secure SDLC) ensuring alignment with Medicaid/MES/FX standards.
- Utilize DevOps and CI/CD best practices including build/release pipelines automated testing version management and infrastructure as code.
- Drive observability and reliability engineering (logging tracing metrics performance/load testing high availability disaster recovery).
- Design and optimize relational databases (SQL Server T-SQL) including schema design and integration with enterprise data platforms (EDW/analytics).
- Architect solutions on Azure and AWS leveraging compute storage networking identity monitoring and platform services; integrate with enterprise data warehouses.
- Adhere to governance and architecture practices (standards reference models technical debt design reviews).
- Work with technologies including (Core & Framework) Blazor C# SQL Visual Studio/VS Code Azure App Services Azure Functions API Management Azure DevOps/GitHub Actions Application Insights AWS ECS/Lambda/API Gateway Docker Kubernetes/AKS/EKS Splunk Tenable/Trend Micro.
- (Preferred) Experience with agentic/AI frameworks (e.g. Codex Claude) for workflow augmentation.
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders and executive leadership.
- Work independently manage multiple priorities and demonstrate ownership and follow-through.
- Adapt to evolving business and technical requirements while maintaining architectural integrity.
- Lead and support Medicaid modernization and modular enterprise applications (FX/MES Enterprise) focusing on integration with EDW to improve service delivery security and outcomes.
- (Preferred) Experience with modular FMMIS solutions transitioning application/platform ownership (vendor to state) CMS reporting federal data submissions analytics support and governance/OCM practices.
- Required to be located in the specified area; C2C engagement.
