Role Overview
As an Electronics Hardware Engineer (Industrial IoT) you will design and validate Industrial IoT hardware for use in hazardous (Ex) environments supporting IMI TWTGs wireless sensing and connectivity solutions.
You will take ownership of electronic designs from concept through to production including schematic and PCB design radio integration and sensor development. Working within a multidisciplinary team alongside firmware mechanical and data engineers you will help deliver robust reliable products that perform in demanding industrial environments across oil & gas chemicals and heavy industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop hardware designs for Industrial IoT products from requirements through to implementation
- Create schematics and PCB layouts in Altium including radio transceiver and sensor designs
- Plan and execute verification activities including test plans board bringup troubleshooting and reporting
- Maintain clear and accurate technical documentation including design files BOMs and change records
- Design with applicable ATEX / IECEx considerations in mind and support compliance activities where required
- Collaborate closely with firmware mechanical and systems engineers within a Scrumbased development environment
- Optionally take ownership of smallscale project coordination activities
Critical Competencies for Success
- Bachelors level of working and thinking (HBO) through education and/or relevant experience
- Several years of relevant experience in electronics hardware development
- Proven experience designing lowpower Industrial IoT hardware
- Strong experience with Altium for schematic capture and PCB layout including versioning and document control (Altium 365)
- Handson experience with wireless design for Industrial IoT applications
- Comfortable working primarily with digital designs with supporting analog circuitry for power management and sensor frontends
- Structured proactive and communicative way of working
- Ability to plan work manage risks proactively and communicate progress clearly within a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to read write and speak English fluently
Diserable Competencies
- Handson experience with ATEX / IECEx certification projects
- Experience supporting product certification activities such as RED FCC and UKCA
- Experience with ST / ARM microcontrollers and LoRaWANbased wireless products
- Experience integrating MEMS sensors
- Affinity with mechanical design tools such as SolidWorks and rapid prototyping techniques (e.g. 3D printing)
- Interest in expanding technical ownership or progressing towards light project coordination responsibilities
- Ability to read write and speak Dutch
