We are looking for a motivatedResettlement Case Workerto join ourPrivate Refugee Sponsorship Programteam! This position will be based at our Vancouver location.
Position Function:
The Resettlement Case Worker supports MOSAICs Private Sponsorship of Refugees Program by providing settlement case management sponsorship application assistance referral services group facilitation data management and community engagement to privately sponsored refugees and private sponsorship groups. This role enhances newcomer life skills strengthens sponsorship capacity and contributes to successful integration and community participation.
POSITION FUNCTION:
Case Management & Direct Client Services
- Conduct comprehensive needs assessments guided pathway support information and orientation and individualized settlement planning.
- Support newcomers with housing employment healthcare mental health education and income supports.
- Facilitate life skills development and integration supports to enhance self-sufficiency.
- Conduct post-arrival check-ins and ensure warm handoffs to MOSAIC settlement programs.
Private Sponsorship Application Support
- Guide private sponsorship groups relatives and co-sponsors through sponsorship processes.
- Prepare compile and track sponsorship applications and required documentation.
- Manage schedules interviews signature collection and document follow-up.
- Deliver sponsor orientations training sessions and sponsorship information sessions.
- Provide problem-solving support related to overseas processing and post-arrival phases.
Community / Stakeholder Relations
- Participate in departmental and organizational meetings training events and partnership activities.
- Support development of program resources and materials
Data Reporting & Standards
- Maintain accurate OCMS records case notes and reporting documentation.
- Meet caseload output and outcome targets as per contractual agreements.
- Track and report newcomer integration outcomes and sponsorship milestones.
- Maintain knowledge of sector trends resources and CARF standards.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors Degree and/or Certificate or Diploma in Social Services Counselling or related field and/or suitable combination of professional experience in humanities social sciences social services settlement or sponsorship
- 2-3 years of relevant experience to Private Sponsorship programs in community development refugee sponsorship and settlement services case management working with immigrants and refugees
- Strong cross-cultural communication skills; experience working with people from diverse backgrounds
- Ability to speak Arabic or Farsi will be an asset
- Excellent understanding of confidentiality and privacy of client information
- Empathetic patient respectful and discrete; remains tactful and patient during stressful situations
- Ability to set boundaries with conflict resolution skills and trauma informed care
- Highly organized with ability to set priorities and meet deadlines
- Problem-solving and analytical skills
- Flexible and adaptable with ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Second language will be considered an asset
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Ability to operate standard office equipment
- Current and satisfactory Criminal Record Check
HOURS:
35 hours per week.Please note this is a fixed term position until March 31 2027 (Mat leave coverage) pending the employees return to work.
The successful candidate may be permitted to work a hybrid work model (combination of in-office and remote work).Candidate must be able to commute to MOSAIC HQ 5575 Boundary Road Vancouver.
