Job Summary

Job Description

The Document Controller II position implements and maintains systems of project document control serving as a documentation facilitator for technical project teams.

This position is intended for execution from the client offices in Anchorage Alaska*

Responsibilities

  • Maintains project deliverable systems and records.
  • Assists with the development of turnover and closeout packages.
  • Assists with the management of functional checkout and commissioning documentation.
  • Maintains effective communication between all related work sites.
  • Implements and understands systems specifications.
  • Executes and maintains version and rendition control procedures.
  • Executes and maintains creation distribution and copy control procedures.
  • Executes procedures to evaluate information.
  • Utilizes appropriate technologies for specific project needs.
  • Executes special projects.
  • Analyzes functions and makes recommendations.
  • Assists users in requests for information and coordinates filing of deliverable related information.
  • Assists in orientation training and cross-training of new employees and users.
  • Files engineering project deliverable related documentation.
  • Performs media reproduction services including copying documentation and/or scanning if necessary.
  • Attends project meetings as necessary.
  • Coordinates and completes work to meet project schedules and deadlines.
  • Other duties that are pertinent to the department or units success also may be assigned.
  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Associates degree in related field preferred.
  • Minimum three (3) years data and records management experience in construction or engineering industry required.
  • Advanced skillset with Microsoft Office Suite. Candidates will be required to complete a skills evaluation exam.
  • Previous experience with SharePoint Bluebeam and SAP preferred.

Language Skills:

Ability to read analyze and interpret common scientific and technical to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients regulatory agencies or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to management and client.

Mathematical Skills:

Comprehend and apply principles of calculus modern algebra and statistical to work with concepts such as limits rings quadratic and differential equations and proofs and to apply mathematical operations to work projects.

Reasoning Ability:

Apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical to deal with non-verbal symbols (formulas scientific equations graphs etc.) in the most difficult to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral diagram or schedule form.

Computer Skills:

Possess a working knowledge of Microsoft Word word processing software; Excel spreadsheet software; Outlook e-mail software; and any other discipline-specific design or analysis software as required.
