Purpose:
As the Senior Manager RA Strategy Portfolio & Ops (Sr. Mgr. RA Tech Portfolio Innovation) you are responsible for leading the evaluation and strategic assessment of new and innovative technologies to serve the process data and technology portfolio. This role will involve conducting feasibility studies experimentation and proof of concepts (POCs) to inform decision-making and prioritize initiatives to sit within the portfolio. This role will also be responsible for analyzing market trends and competitive landscapes to ensure a balanced portfolio that aligns with the organizations strategic objectives.
You will be responsible for:
- Lead evaluations of emerging technologies and assess their alignment with organizational goals.
- Conduct feasibility studies and experimentation to support the development of POCs for new technology initiatives.
- Make informed decisions regarding project prioritization and viability based on thorough analysis.
- Perform comprehensive market and competitive analysis to identify opportunities and threats.
- Facilitate portfolio balancing to ensure resource allocation aligns with strategic priorities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and implement new technology solutions.
- Provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership based on evaluation outcomes and market trends.
- Implement and execute a methodology to evaluate the business case for and prioritize initiatives within the portfolio based on alignment with strategic goals potential to deliver business value technical feasibility and resource requirements.
- Establish metrics and KPIs to measure progress and report regularly to stakeholders.
- Partner with initiative leaders to identify and manage risks associated with the initiatives in the portfolio developing risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans to address potential issues.
- Ensure that the initiatives within the portfolio are aligned with GRA strategic goals and objectives driving discussions with senior leaders to ensure support.
- Identify the key value drivers and develop the business case for each initiative within the portfolio quantifying the potential benefits such as cost savings increased efficiency or improved stakeholder satisfaction.
- Track the realization of benefits for each initiative within the portfolio monitoring the progress of each initiative and evaluating the actual benefits achieved compared to the projected benefits.
- Communicate the value created by the initiatives within the portfolio to key stakeholders including senior leaders by creating reports and presentations that clearly illustrate the benefits realized and the impact on GRAs goals and objectives.
Qualifications / Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelors degree in scientific business or technical discipline Regulatory Affairs Life Sciences or a related field required.
- Masters degree highly preferred.
Work Experience:
- 8-10 years of experience in pharmaceutical or healthcare industry is required.
- People and team management experience highly preferred.
Technical Competency / Skills:
Technical Expertise:
- Strong understanding of emerging technologies (e.g. artificial intelligence blockchain IoT etc.) and their applications across industries required.
- Experience in technology evaluation methodologies and frameworks required.
Analytical Skills:
- Proven ability to conduct thorough market and competitive analysis including data interpretation and trend forecasting preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on feasibility assessments and strategic decision-making are required.
Project Management:
- Experience in managing projects or initiatives including proof of concepts (POCs) from inception to completion is required.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and project management tools is a plus.
Adaptability & Innovation:
- Willingness to stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies is required.
- A creative mindset to explore and evaluate novel technology solutions is required.
Leadership / Competency Skills:
- Experienced in developing new capabilities and building teams from the ground up is required.
