District Office Receptionist
Purpose Statement
The District Office Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for visitors and staff providing exceptional customer service and creating a welcoming environment. This role is responsible for managing incoming calls assisting visitors and supporting daily office operations to ensure efficient and professional front office functions.
Job Title: District Office Receptionist (Part-Time)
Hourly Wage: Grade 6
Employment Year: 12 month
Reports To: District Office Manager
Wage/Hour Status: Non-Exempt
Qualifications
Experience: Minimum of one-two years of experience in a customer service administrative or office support role. Experience within a school setting preferred.
Education: High school diploma required

Proficiency with technology and office systems
Essential Functions
Customer Service and Visitor Support
Provide excellent customer service and assistance to all employees students visitors and community members fostering a welcoming approachable and professional atmosphere
Serve as the welcoming first point of contact for all visitors and staff ensuring a professional and positive experience
Answer and route phone calls promptly providing accurate information and assistance
Schedule appointments manage calendars and coordinate meeting spaces efficiently
Administrative & Technology Support
Provide clerical support including copying scanning and processing
Set up and troubleshoot district email accounts passwords and access for new employees
Maintain accurate employee data in systems like Infinite Campus and Active Directory
Office Operations & Collaboration
Manage daily front desk operations to ensure smooth workflow
Assist colleagues with administrative tasks and support district initiatives
Handles cash takes payments completes receipts in InTouch prepares deposits and performs daily drawer reconciliation to ensure accuracy and compliance
Takes responsibility for assigned duties and ensures tasks are completed accurately and within established timelines including during transitions between job share partners
Schedule meeting and training spaces
Safety & Compliance
Maintain office security by monitoring visitors and following district safety policies
Respond appropriately to emergencies and escalate concerns when needed
Uphold confidentiality and professional integrity at all times
Other Functions
Maintain a high level of professionalism integrity and accountability.
Participate in staff development training programs faculty meetings and special events as assigned.
Uphold integrity and maintain confidentiality at all times.
Demonstrate initiative and the ability to work without close supervision.
Collaborate effectively with all school personnel maintaining positive and productive communication.
Adhere to safety protocols and policies established by the Ankeny Community School District to ensure the safety of oneself and others.
Support District goals and objectives while adhering to all District policies contributing to the overall success of the school community.
Demonstrate regular and dependable attendance to ensure smooth District operations.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
