Job Title: Engineering Intern R&D

Hiring Manager: Director - Semiconductor Innovation Center

Mission of the role: This internship offers students handson experience supporting applied research laboratory testing and earlystage development of advanced engineering solutions used in semiconductor aerospace energy and healthcare. Interns work closely with engineers and scientists in Motts development teams contributing to real technical programs that progress from concept through experimental validation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support laboratory and cleanroom testing activities including experimental setup data collection and documentation
• Assist with evaluation and iteration of earlystage prototypes and test articles
• Work with engineered porous metal and ceramic materials used in missioncritical applications
• Collaborate with crossfunctional engineering teams to support customerdriven technical programs
• Document results and contribute to technical summaries and internal reports

Technical Exposure & Learning Opportunities:

• Handson lab and cleanroom experience in a professional R&D setting
• Applied engineering development for nextgeneration porous metal technology
• Exposure to how similar technologies are developed and applied across adjacent industries including clean energy aerospace healthcare and specialty chemical processing
• Experience working within structured engineering quality and safety processes
• Document results and contribute to technical summaries and internal reports

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a BS or MS degree in Mechanical Engineering Materials Science Chemical Engineering or a related technical discipline
• Interest in applied engineering experimental testing and handson problem solving
• Ability to work effectively in a teambased laboratory environment
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn disciplined experimental methods
