Vision Foundation Model Research Intern

Intrinsic is an AI robotics group at Google aiming to reimagine the potential of industrial robotics. Our team believes that advances in AI perception and simulation will redefine whats possible for industrial robotics in the near future with software and data at the core.

Role

We are seeking a highly motivated intern to build state-of-the-art vision foundation models for industrial robotics. You will design train and test your own vision foundation models with the goal of achieving state-of-the-art results in a given task and deploying it with our industrial customers.

How your work moves the mission forward

• Contribute towards the development of robotics software (including our platform Flowstate).
• Collaborate with a team of experienced professionals in modern software development practices.
• Explore and implement deep learning models in python specifically using PyTorch or Jax.
• See your foundation models impact different customers in industrial robotics.

Skills you will need to be successful

• Masters student in Computer Science or related field required (PhDs students preferred).
• Knowledge and proficiency in python specifically using PyTorch or Jax.
• Familiarity with training foundation models across multiple nodes.
• Experience or interest in creating end-to-end robotics applications or have built/integrated robotic hardware (i.e. workcells) in industry.
• Ability to debug launch and troubleshoot training and inference jobs.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
