This is a unique opportunity to work within a statewide virtual specialist model supporting children young people and families while collaborating closely with regional teams on complex and high-impact cases.
Consultant Psychiatrist Head of Department 0.6 FTE (5-year term)
Flexible arrangements available: part-time sessional or tailored FTE
About the service
This specialist hub provides advanced virtual mental health care to children and young people aged 018 across regional WA. Working in partnership with local ICAMHS teams the service focuses on:
Specialist psychiatric assessment and treatment
Consultation and shared care with regional clinicians
Clinical leadership and workforce capability building
Supporting culturally responsive trauma-informed care models
The role
As a Consultant Psychiatrist you will:
Deliver specialist assessment and treatment for children and adolescents
Provide expert consultation to GPs and multidisciplinary teams
Support coordinated care for complex and high-risk presentations
Contribute to service development planning and quality improvement
Play a key role in strengthening regional mental health services
Head of Department option (0.6 FTE):
Provide senior clinical leadership and governance
Support workforce development and education
Contribute to strategic direction of the statewide program
