About the Role We are working with a highly regarded and expanding childcare law team seeking an experienced Childcare Solicitor or Legal Executive to join its East Midlands practice. This is an excellent opportunity to join one of the regions largest teams specialising in children law working on behalf of children across to the nature of the work Childrens Panel accreditation is essential. The role offers a varied and meaningful caseload combining high-quality legal work with the opportunity to make a genuine impact on the lives of children and families. A following of guardians would be advantageous but is not essential.
Key Responsibilities You will manage a diverse and sensitive caseload including:
Acting for children in a range of public and private law proceedings
Handling care proceedings and Emergency Protection Orders (EPOs)
Advising on special guardianship and adoption matters
Managing private law applications including Rule 16.4 instructions
Providing separate representation for competent children
Delivering clear practical advice with a compassionate and client-focused approach
Conducting advocacy where appropriate
Building and maintaining strong relationships with guardians and other professionals
Requirements
Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with 5 years PQE in childcare law
Must hold Childrens Panel accreditation
Strong advocacy experience
Demonstrable experience handling a broad range of childcare matters
Ability to manage sensitive cases with empathy and professionalism
Excellent communication and organisational skills
A genuine passion for children law and the impact of this work
