The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity within the Rural Health Transformation Program.

Increasingly EMS providers are called to support individuals with chronic disease and social service needs in addition to their normal emergency care responsibilities.

With guidance from the EMS System Manager the Community Integrated Health / Community Paramedicine (CIH/CP) Specialist works with internal and external stakeholders to develop quality improvement tactics and adopt or create education tools and opportunities for their CIH initiatives as well as for the strategies outlined in the Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP) regarding CIH/CP.

Qualifications for this Career Opportunity

  • Knowledge of public health program management principles and practices.

  • Ability to research develop and implement public health interventions.

  • Ability to prepare reports presentations and other communication for the program.

  • Meet minimum qualifications:

    • Bachelors degree in public administration health education health science or other behavioral or social science related fields.

    • Two years job-related public health program experience including contracts and direct training experience.

    • Experience writing and managing grants preferred.

    • Other combinations of directly related education and experience including EMS experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
