ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provide supervision through comprehensive planning for the facilitation and coordination of Nursing 504 and Home and Hospital services.
- Act in a professional manner and maintain a professional attitude towards the public and colleagues.
- Maintain a positive relationship with students staff parents and community by modeling respect cooperation and professionalism with others recognizing the personal achievements and professional contributions of others and demonstrating knowledge of a sensitivity toward individuals and groups from all racial ethnic/cultural national socio-economic backgrounds.
- Comply with school system state and federal regulations and policies as related to job requirements.
- Show initiative and assume responsibility for all aspects of job responsibilities; perform routine duties and tasks with little or no direct supervision.
- Direct supervise and evaluate all assigned personnel.
- Establish a set of culturally responsive standard operating procedures practices and routines.
- Provide and/or facilitate training of staff with regard to the most effective practices which lead to higher student achievement regardless of race ethnicity socioeconomic status or prior academic
- Coordinate supervise evaluate Nursing 504 and Home and Hospital services.
- Inform interpret and recommend to Senior Director Special Services effects of current and impending legislation.
- Prepare and administer the budget for assigned department.
- Maintain records and budgets for Nursing 504 and Home and Hospital Services.
- Prepare state and federal reports as required.
- Provides support for 504 manifestation determination.
- Addresses questions concerns and/or complaints of alleged discrimination under Section 504 or ADA.
- Determines eligibility for adult accommodation requests.
- Develops cultural competence and a commitment to equity in outcomes and opportunities for adults and students.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid Washington RN license.
- ESA Certification or eligibility.
- Management experience preferred.
- Minimum of a Bachelors Degree Masters Degree or beyond preferred.
- School nurse or public health nurse experience preferred.
- Successful completion of Washington State Patrol background check.
- Ability to demonstrate effective written and oral communications with diverse community members to include students staff parents and community stakeholders.
- Ability to respond to and engage with a diverse multi-cultural and multi-racial community and to work side by side and foster strong positive relationships with parents staff students and the public.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
- Valid Washington Administrator Certificate preferred.
- Knowledge of Nursing 504 and Home and Hospital rules and regulations.
- Must have regular consistent attendance.
- Experience in developing and facilitating engaging professional development for staff and a commitment to equity while building a diverse and inclusive school community.
- Ability to perform all duties in accordance with applicable Board policies and district and legal requirements
- Ability to perform and maintain punctuality and attendance expectations
