We are seeking a strategic solutionsfocused taxation or finance professional to provide expert leadership in treasury and taxation support across the Council. This is an influential role for someone who enjoys working at the heart of a complex organisation and shaping sound compliant financial decisionmaking.
You will join a forwardthinking finance function with a clear public service purpose working closely with senior leaders Members and officers at all levels. The role offers genuine opportunities to grow and develop your expertise work alongside highly experienced professionals engage with evolving legislation and financial technologies and make a visible impact on how public money is managed. You will be part of a collaborative team that values professional judgement continuous improvement and trusted advice.
Reporting directly to the Chief Accountant your daytoday work will involve leading on all aspects of tax planning VAT borrowing cash flow management and compliance alongside providing clear practical advice on taxation matters. You will analyse complex financial information interpret current and emerging tax legislation and support managers by translating technical detail into meaningful insight.
You will be a qualified or qualifiedbyexperience taxation or finance professional ideally with experience in a local authority or similarly complex environment confident working with indirect taxes financial modelling and advanced Excel and able to manage competing priorities with accuracy and professionalism.
