Job Title: RN Inpatient OB/GYN
Specialty: Inpatient OB/GYN Nursing
Place of Work (City/State): Shiprock New Mexico 87420
Duration: Base Period: 6 months
Option Periods: Four (4) additional 6-month periods
Start Date: 06/01/2026
Shift Schedule: As per department requirements (Inpatient OB/GYN rotating shifts including days nights weekends and holidays as applicable)
How many shifts needed per month: To be determined based on 1040 hours per period per 4 providers (approx. full-time coverage)
License: Active unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in any U.S. state
Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- Any OB/GYN-specific certifications as required by facility
Experience needed: Minimum 2 3 years of recent Inpatient OB/GYN experience (aligned with typical IHS clinical expectations)
Special Skills needed:
- Experience in labor & delivery and postpartum care
- Ability to manage obstetric emergencies
- Electronic Health Record (EHR) proficiency
- Strong clinical assessment and patient care coordination skills
Credentialing / Onboarding time: 6 weeks to 8 weeks
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Inpatient OB/GYN unit
- Monitor maternal and fetal conditions and respond to changes
- Assist physicians during labor delivery and related procedures
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in medical records
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams
- Ensure compliance with facility policies clinical standards and federal regulations
- Participate in quality assurance and patient safety initiatives
