Civil Engineer I:$28.28 - $36.07 hourly depending on qualifications
Civil EngineerII:$28.90 - $38.30hourly depending on qualifications
Civil EngineerIII:$31.51 - $41.75hourly depending on qualifications
Civil EngineerIV:$34.34 - $45.50hourly depending on qualifications

Performs professional engineering work in the design or review of engineering plans and specifications for the construction of streets sidewalks pedestrian crossings traffic signals and parking facilities. Performs professional engineering work in the field of traffic studies including traffic data analysis and warrant studies. Responsible for the analysis and documentation of crash data for all areas within City limits and directs technicians in the deployment of traffic collection equipment. Prepare designs and specifications for construction and/or are responsible for the review of plans submitted by engineering consulting firms to ensure construction is compliant with City of Orlando standards and engineering principles methods and techniques. Work assignments are received from a professional supervisor who defines the scope of the work to be performed but the employee is expected to plan details of work and make technical decisions. Work is reviewed while in progress and upon completion.

Minimum Qualifications:

Civil Engineer I Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering and six (6) months experience in transportation engineering; or an equivalent combination of education training and experience. Valid Florida Drivers License required.

Civil Engineer II Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering and two (2) years experience in transportation engineering to include at least one (1) year experience in transportation development review traffic studies or crash data analysis; or an equivalent combination of education training and experience. Valid Florida Drivers License required.

Civil Engineer III Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering and four (4) years experience in transportation engineering including at least two (2) years experience in transportation development review traffic studies or crash data analysis; or an equivalent combination of education training and experience. Valid Florida Drivers License required. Registration as an Engineer Intern (EI) required.One (1) year supervisory experience desired.

Civil Engineer IV Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering and four (4) years experience in transportation engineering including at least two (2) years experience in transportation development review traffic studies or crash data analysis; or an equivalent combination of education training and experience. Valid Florida Drivers License required. Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Florida required. One (1) year supervisory experience desired.

Traffic Modeling Software (Synchro Sidra or CFRPM) and/or Microstation/AutoCAD experience desired
