Description:Dance Team -Head Coach
- Manage all aspects of the high school program including off-season program tryouts practice schedules and routines.
- Select and supervise/mentor assistant coaches if applicable.
- Provide regular communication with parents/families.
- Regularly track the academic progress of all student athletes in the program and facilitate necessary support systems to ensure their academic eligibility.
- Cooperate with other school-sponsored programs.
- Develop and implement an off-season program for participants.
- Coordinate with the local youth program below the 9th grade level.
- Work with local media as needed and establish strong working relationships with community support groups.
- Work with the Athletic Direct and Bookkeeper to manage ASB account and budget for the year.
Requirements:
- NFHS Fundamentals of coaching certification
- Appearance and Performance Enhancing Substances Certification
- Protecting Students from Abuse
- First Aid/CPR certification
- Homelessness Education/Service Students
- Bloodborne Pathogens Certification
- Concussion Management
- Heat Acclimation Certification
- Sexual Misconduct in Oregon Schools
- District Fingerprinting/Criminal Background check
- Proof of COVID 19 vaccination
Qualifications Desired:
- Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships and positive results.
- High ethical and professional standards.
- The presence to be a role model for high-school student-participants; public face of the program.
- A commitment to the importance of academic excellence and achievement for all student-participants in the program.
- Demonstrated ability to lead young student-athletes.
- The ability to communicate effectively to a variety of stakeholders including parents/community.
- Skill in organization time management and public relations.
- A comprehensive knowledge of the skill development and coaching techniques needed for the dance.
- The skill to teach fundamentals develop and teach strategy and articulate a program philosophy.
- Applicants should have experience as a head coach at the high school level or assistant coach at the college or 5A/6A level or with running a dance team in a studio setting.
- Applicants should have experience participating at the high school and/or college level.
