Job Summary:
The Dental Assistant supports dental providers in delivering high-quality patient care by assisting during procedures preparing treatment areas and ensuring a safe and efficient clinical environment. This role requires strong attention to detail excellent communication skills and a commitment to patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare treatment rooms and ensure all instruments and materials are ready for procedures
Assist dentists during procedures including instrument handling suctioning and patient support
Prepare and position patients for treatment ensuring comfort and safety
Sterilize instruments and maintain infection control protocols
Take and process dental radiographs (X-rays)
Mix and prepare dental materials as needed
Provide patient education on oral hygiene and post-treatment care
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
Support dental and medical emergencies as needed
Ensure compliance with safety hygiene and confidentiality standards
Maintain equipment and manage clinical supplies
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth clinic operations
Required Qualifications:
Minimum 1 year of experience as a Dental Assistant
High school diploma or equivalent
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment
Certifications & Licensure:
Dental Assistant certification/registration (as required by state)
CPR certification
X-ray certification or training
Work Environment:Per-diem role with flexible scheduling across clinical settings
