Norwich Regional Adult Education (NRAE) is seeking a part-time Social Worker to support adult learners in overcoming personal social and economic barriers that may impact their educational success and persistence.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Outreach
Assist staff with contacting returning/lapsed students
Connect students with community-based resources and provide follow-up support
Develop connections between community organizations cooperative districts and NRAE services
Registration
Assist at registration events
Support students in completing intake interviews to identify educational personal and career goals
Classroom/Program Support
Collaborate with staff to identify and address barriers to learning
Participate in Student Success Plan (SSP) reviews for CDP GED and ESOL programs
Attend program department and staff meetings as needed
Additional Responsibilities
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Adult Education
Minimum Requirements:
Appropriate licensure as a Social Worker in the State of Connecticut (LMSW LCSW or equivalent)
Experience working with adult populations including multilingual learners
Knowledge of community-based resources and referral systems
Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in adult education workforce development or community-based settings
Bilingual skills (Spanish or other languages) strongly preferred
