What Youll Do as a Human Service Worker
- Provide direct supervision support and structure to adolescent boys (ages 1217) in a short-term crisis care setting
- Create a safe stable and supportive environment for youth experiencing emotional behavioral and safety challenges
- Assist with daily routines activities and skill-building to promote stability and positive behavior
- Use de-escalation and behavior intervention techniques to support youth in crisis
- Monitor youth safety including those experiencing suicidal ideation trauma-related behaviors or family conflict
- Support intake processes including welcoming walk-ins and helping ensure safety and readiness for admission
- Assist with medication management under supervision following proper protocols
- Collaborate with therapists and team members to support individualized care and treatment goals
- Maintain accurate documentation and communicate updates on youth behavior and progress
- Build trusting supportive relationships with youth while encouraging growth accountability and resilience
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid drivers license
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to stay calm patient and grounded during challenging situations
- Reliable team-oriented and eager to learn
- Experience or education in mental/behavioral health is helpful but not required
- Must pass a background check and meet WBH hiring standards
- Spanish speakers may qualify for a wage increase
