Salary offers will be determined based on the candidates qualifications in relation to the Minimum Hiring Standards. Candidates earlier in their careers are typically offered salaries closer to the minimum of the hiring range while those with more advanced or relevant experience may be considered for compensation at or above the hiring range.

Assistant Director of Communications and Outreach

Student Financial Services

The ideal candidate will play a key strategic role in providing input to Financial Aid and Student Accounts for both undergraduate and graduate this capacity the individual will collaborate closely with Public Relations and Marketing Communications as well as other campus stakeholders to maintain consistency in messaging to students across various communication channels including web/online email social media and print formats. The position will also have oversight of the utilization of Salesforce our customer relationship management (CRM) systemDataEducation andMarketing Cloud. These tools will be employed to effectively communicate critical steps and deadlines to students with the goal of encouraging and assisting them through Student Financial Services processes.

    HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    Provides strategic direction and oversight for allcommunicationplans including planning andimplementation ofstrategic communications using theMarketing CloudCRM system. This responsibilityreports tothe Director ofStudent Financial Management Centerand collaborates withthe Director of Marketing and Communication forStudent Success.

    Write edit and publish content for various communication projectsand marketing platforms to align with strategic initiatives andestablishedcommunication campaigns. Provide project management and execution of communications programs initiatives and tactical Student Financial Services communication andwebinarcalendarandcommunicate with stakeholders to verify requests andidentifyeditorial resources. Plan editorial content according to established goals andobjectives.

    Ensure Compliance:Administer the Consumer Information regulations for federal and state financial aid programs administered byStudent Financial Servicesto ensure up to date with federal and state regulatory updates impact reports financial aid literature training manuals audit guides institutional reports professional publications (e.g. Student Aid News NASFAA Journal Chronicle of Higher Education NACUBO).

    CollaborateAcross Campus:Collaborates with campus stakeholders toidentifyand implement interventions that directly support enrollment retention and matriculation of Scholarship Literacy CenterGSU Public Relations Marketing & Communication Undergraduate and Graduate Admissions GSU Chatbot and others to manage andmaintainemail text message website social media and other student communicationspertaining toStudent Financial Services.Develop outcomes and produceanevaluation of effectivenessforcampaignsvia analyticsand reportto all stakeholders as needed.

    ManageStudent Financial ServicesCommunication Processesand Default Preventionefforts:Keep up with industry best practices andmaintain/enhance skill level byparticipatingin professional development opportunities including professional conferences skills training and campus-wide communities of long-term and short-term priorities projects and timelines aligned with communication cycles. Manage multiple concurrent communications projects of financial literacy initiatives focused on responsible borrowing loan repaymenteducation and early intervention for at-risk data analytics to support targeted outreach campaigns aimed at reducing delinquency and default rates.

    Manage vendor relationshipspertaining Logic Salesforce Knowledge Base. Become familiar with other stakeholder platforms such asMain Stayand Slateas with the Technology and Research Team to create filters and mine data to communicatetostudents using theMarketing Cloud CRM.

    LeadCommunication Team

    Supervise support andmentorthe Student Communication Team.This role will have a unique opportunity to develop and design a student worker communication teamtoassistwith calling campaigns chatbots and outreach position will also supervise a Coordinatorposition.

    Assist with Onboarding and Training:

    Work with the Business Manager to managethe onboarding and training of new Student Financial Services Staff members. Collaborate with the SFS Training Team to provide content for training materials used for onboarding andcurrentstaffcontinued education and professionaldevelopment.
