People & Culture Business Partner

Hassell a leading global design practice is looking for an experienced People & Culture Business Partner to join our Sydney studio on a fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave. We are also open to part-time arrangements for candidates seeking flexibility.

In this role you will partner closely with our Studio Leadership team to support our people and help shape a workplace where everyone can thrive. You will bring a strong generalist HR background sound judgement and a collaborative approach to delivering people initiatives and practical day-to-day support.

What youll do

• Partner with studio leaders to implement people practices that support business goals
• Participate in group initiatives and projects as part of the broader People team
• Support the full employee lifecycle from onboarding through to offboarding
• Guide performance and development conversations review cycles and career growth initiatives
• Provide advice and support on employee relations matters including conflict resolution and workplace concerns
• Contribute to employee engagement diversity and inclusion and retention initiatives
• Ensure compliance with Australian employment legislation and internal people policies
• Build trusted relationships across the studio and help maintain a positive inclusive culture

Qualifications :

What youll bring

• Solid experience in an HR or People & Culture Business Partner role
• A background in professional services design or a creative environment is highly desirable
• Strong knowledge of HR best practice employee relations and performance management
• In-depth understanding of Australian employment legislation including the Fair Work Act National Employment Standards (NES) and modern awards
• Experience partnering with and influencing senior leaders
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• A proactive solutions-focused approach and the ability to manage sensitive matters with discretion
• Confidence working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
