Assistant Controller

The Assistant Controller reports to the Controller andis responsible forsupporting accounting management formulating andmaintaininginternal controls andleadthe preparation offinancial statements. The Assistant Controller will also manage journal entriesassistwith budgets and forecasts and ensure role will be given the opportunity to design key accountingprocesses andwill be a key player in theimplementation ofautomation andotherexcitingchangesin a collaborative and team-oriented environment.

Schedule: This is a hybrid position based at our office in Chico CA with in-office days Tuesday - Thursday.

WhatYoullDo

• Leada teamof3-5to manageday-to-dayaccounting operations includingbilling A/R A/P GLdutiesand oversee state tax compliance.

• Lead monthly close processprepare/reviewaccount reconciliationsand journal entriesroll forwardand analyze inventory activityupdate expenseaccruals andreserves for returnsself-insuredmedical liabilityandotherkey areasas needed andensure capital expenditures and lease activity are properly captured

• Lead thepreparation and publishing of monthly quarterly and yearly financial statements/reports and supporting analysis

• Ensureinternalcontrols aremaintainedforfinancial transactions and financialreportingincluding documentation of business processes andupdatingaccounting policies.

• Lead preparation of audit schedules

• Collaborate with other key departments (Marketing Inventory Planning and Allocation Data and Analytics Operationsand Legal) to provide financial data and analysisfor decision supportcontractsand insurance accuracy ofinventoryin partnershipwith Operationsand reconcilingactivitybetween WMSsales ordersystem andcycle counts

• Support FP&A duringannual budgetingandquarterly forecastingprocesses

• Prepareanalysis for key month-over-month and year-over-yearfluctuationsProvide financialinformationas neededforcapital investments pricing decisions and contract negotiations

• Assistwith monitoring daily treasury operations including monitoring cash flowactivity versus the weeklyforecasts

• Mentorand develop accounting team members

• Additionalduties and ad hoc projects as necessary

• Travel as needed(10%)

WhatYoullNeed

• Bachelors Degree Accounting Finance Business Administration or related field

• 8 yearsofpreviousexperience oracombination oftraining and experience

• 3 yearsofexperiencein a leadership roleincluding all aspects of coaching mentoring and providing verbal and written feedback

• Exceptional communication organizational and analytical skills

• AdvancedMS Excelskillsand ability to work with large data sets

• Highly detail oriented and organized with ability to meet assigned deadlines

• Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of employees management and external parties to maximize performance creativity problemsolvingand results

• Proficiencyin ERP systems

• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced high-energy deadline-oriented environment

• Improve/implement processesto evolvewith theneedsof being publicly traded

• Strongtime management skills

• Previousexperience working for a publiclytradedcompany

• Self-motivated and effective problem solver

• Strong understanding of GAAP financial reporting and internal controls
